Young Sohn is a four-decade Silicon Valley veteran, and together with his team at Walden Catalyst Ventures, he has a track record of over 600 investments and 139 IPOs in global category leaders such as Zoom, Graphcore, Canva, Meituan, IonQ, Mellanox, Astera Labs, Credo, DocuSign, and Inphi — where he also served as CEO.
As Co-founder of Walden Catalyst, a venture firm backing deep tech startups with global ambitions, Young serves on the boards of Cadence Design Systems and ARM, and is Chairman of the Board at HARMAN International. Previously, he was Corporate President and Chief Strategy Officer at Samsung Electronics, CEO of two public tech companies (Inphi, Oak Technology), and a senior advisor to Silver Lake. He also co-founded the Extreme Tech Challenge (XTC), one of the world’s largest startup competitions inspired by the UN SDGs.
Since 2025, Young serves as Chairman of the Board at Speedinvest, helping to unlock new opportunities for founders across the US and Asia, opening doors to global investors and C-levels.
